About me and my work

My name is Angehlica Halling, Game & World Designer at Ringtail Interactive, working on a new project called Scape. 

I previously worked as a Senior Level Designer at King, Candy Crush Soda.

 

My approach to designs is to give the player the tools needed for exploring the features and figure out their own tactics to experience the game on their own. 

As a level designer I am also responsible for the core gameplay in the levels, such as the switcher and features on the board used to make unique puzzles. 

In my designs I strive for creating new types tactics to beat a level, adding features that are recognizable by the players but gives them a new way of solving puzzles and beating a level. I maintain and refine the current live content as the game is over 5 years old along with creating new levels for end of content experience and veteran players.

Outside of my work, I am working with Gamedev Force as Chairperson. GameDev Force is a non-profit association that supports initiatives to increase diversity and create safe spaces for minorities within the game industry. Currently the project lead of Valkyrie Jam

I studied Game Design for 5 years, each school with its unique approach to Game Development that broadened my skills. 3 Years at university level for theoretical, analytical Game design and programming. 2 years at FutureGames, rated the second best game development school in the world, with hands-on approach with projects, focusing on level design, gameplay design and scripting.

Before I found my passion for games, I was studying Movie/Tv-Production & Animation where I learnt about story telling and 3D modelling, these skills still comes in handy when I work on projects cross-craft for quick iterations and communication.

During my studies, I was always working at different part-time jobs and learned a lot about self-discipline and structure. I value teamwork and strive for a healthy work environment.
